A Nebraska born poet and prose writer, with a Colorado heart. I live in many ages, word formats, and creative expressions – all found between spoonful’s of peanut butter, bottles of whiskey, and the moon.
“So long as you write what you wish to write, that is all that matters, and whether it matters for ages or only for hours, nobody can say.” – Virginia Woolf
Fourteen years ago I first fell in love with poetry – the ability to create something so beautiful with only my words and imagination. Over the years my hero’s changed from Shel Silverstein to Allen Ginsberg, Kerouac to Shakespeare – but one thing has remained true, and that is the unconditional love I had for the written word. From blue ink smeared on paper to my first typewriter, I have dabbled with rhymes and free-writes, abstract and undefinable prose to expressive and insightful poetry. I have had my heart broken through words, only to fall again.
It has taken years of insecurities, developing patience and honing my procrastination to get to this point – but at twenty-five I am ready. I have words to share and friends to find.
Welcome to my own Storylines in Verse.
My heart is filled with love and pride as I read this……. even more so than it was when I read the poem you quoted to
me as a young child in a note you sent to me thanking me for some books and then moving on to enjoy them fully,
making them a part of you and now sharing that beautiful you, YOURSELF, with the world. That note has been
tucked away safely in my bible and my heart over the years. Now like a cocoon you burst forth in the beautiful
being you really are. Thank you for being you, and may God bless you , your heart and your pen as you share your
words and books with us all ! , grandma morse 🙂

Your words are absolutely beautiful, and hit me hard. I had a similar experience. Now 25, I stopped writing when I was back in college…really for no reason at all. This is my attempt to get back into it. Definitely inspired by you, and looking forward to more!
